Covergirl: Ready Set Gorgeous Review

Sunday 28 June 2015

About two months ago I picked up Covergirl's dynamic duo and I can't seem to put them down!

I have the foundation in 105 (lightest shade) and the lightest shade in the concealer as well. I bought them from Target for $16.95 and $11.95 respectively, which I think are very reasonable prices for a 'drugstore' foundation and concealer. But Target often has 30% off sales, and Priceline also has their quarterly 40% off sale, so if price is a determining factor in your purchases I would definitely recommend waiting for them to go on sale!

The foundation is advertised as oil free, and even though I have normal to dry skin, I don't find this foundation overly drying on my skin. It has a beautiful matte finish, but isn't too flat on my face. I find that it sets wonderfully by itself so I don't usually set it with a powder.

The matching 'Ready Set Gorgeous' concealer is probably my new favourite concealer. I have honestly used it every day without fail for a month. Being pale, it is hard to find a concealer that actually covers dark circles and brightens at the same time, and somehow this does both! It gives beautiful coverage, without being too heavy or thick, and manages to brighten my under eye area.

Tis combo easily last 8-10 hours on me without fail which is great, so I don't need to worry about powdering or touching up throughout the day. I also love these two together as they can be applied with my fingers, a brush or a sponge and they all give a lovely smooth finish to my skin.

I would say the coverage is light to medium. I haven't tried to build it as I don't need any more coverage than that, but seeing as the foundation is pretty light consistency I would imagine you could build it up quite easily.

The packaging on both of the products is another favourite of mine about them. The foundation tube is perfect for travel as it isn't glass, and is nice, sleek and thing. I love the pink highlighting on them, very pretty and girly! The concealer also has a really soft doe foot applicator, which I love as I don't need to squeeze out product onto my finger or anything.

If you can't tell my final verdict after this raving review. I highly recommend both of these, and can't think of a single thing I don't like about them. In America I have seen a matching Ready Set Gorgeous powder, hopefully that comes to Australia soon as I would love to try it as well.
